Cyberpunk Purgatory

3d Animation

For Cyberpunk Purgatory, I was inspired by my lifelong love of the cyberpunk genre, specifically the book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" by Phillip K Dick, “Neuromancer” and the film “Blade Runner.” I love the genre's focus on identity, and what it means to be human in a society that disregards the sanctity of life and experience in the pursuit of profit and power.

Process

In the animation, the character (and the viewer) are trapped in at least three levels of screens, unable to escape the “loop.” I wanted to create an oppressive feeling, or many things crowding the screen, and to imitate the maximal nature of cyberpunk settings.

Programs Used
